Toni Sealy
Barbados Community College
"I am honoured to be a winner of the Barbados Cancer Association USA's Scholarship.
My father was the main bread winner of our family and losing him has caused me to become a humbler person, realizing that everything around you could change in the blink of an eye. His death caused a tremendous burden on our family. I currently work two jobs while going to school full time to pay my tuition fees and assist with the upkeep of my household."
"Thanks to your generous support I can complete my Bachelor Degree in General Nursing without the worry of paying my tuition fees. I am eternally grateful."
Ms. Toni Sealy is from Broaded Hall, Christ Church, Barbados. She is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in General Nursing at the Barbados Community College.
Simone Kirton
Barbados Community College
"I am absolutely honored to be one of the recipients of the Barbados Cancer Association (BACA) Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support, my lifelong dream of having a career in the medical field is moving forward and I can continue my second year in college with zeal. The expense of school can be overwhelming and discouraging at times but with scholarship opportunities such as yours, students like me are able to pursue advanced healthcare degrees so that they can better serve the medical community."
"Your scholarship puts me one step closer to becoming a registered nurse and this school year, I will be able to secure the needed uniforms and text books that will allow me to look the part and to maximize my time spent studying. Moreover, I am motivated to maintain my GPA and complete my degree so that I can actively give back to the community. I hope that one day I will be able to help other students achieve their goals just as you have helped me."
"I truly appreciate your generous contribution to my education and I thank you for having confidence in my abilities and for lending you support. Please feel free to share my thanks and my story with others in your organization whether it is in publication or online. I hope that it will help you to raise more funds for more students."
"Once again, thank you for awarding me this scholarship. Your generosity has truly made a difference."
Ms. Kirton is from Silver Hill, Christ Church, Barbados.
Avara C. Brown
Barbados Community College
"I am profoundly grateful to have received the BACA Scholarship. I accept with gratitude all the terms and conditions, and will be more than willing to participate in future programmes and or promotions.
I have continued in the nursing programme motivated by good grades and with the encouraging words of a few close friends and teachers. Very few days and or semesters have passed without thoughts of how I will continue due to the heavy financial burden placed on me.
The BACA Scholarship is truly a timely blessing and one that has brought extreme joy and the proverbial light and the end of a very dark tunnel. Again I say thank you from the depths of my heart.
It has not been easy and my path has been darkened by the passing of both my parents, my life line and support system. Thanks to BACA the path is not just shorter but brighter."
Ms. Brown is from Brittons Hill, St. Michael, Barbados.

This award, coming from the Barbados Cancer Association USA, makes me more determine to follow my path."
